CHAPTER PRESIDENT’S REPORT
WESTOP Board of Directors Meeting

Committee Charges: Provide Leadership and ensure proper function of chapter. Hold Chapter meetings and act as liaison between chapter and WESTOP Board of Directors. Prepare and submit annual budget. Provide chapter reports at Board meetings and to WESTOP website. Serve on the Fiscal Affairs and Strategic Planning Committees.
Chapter Update: Ron Muriera, our long standing Legislation and Education Chair has stepped down and is moving on to new professional challenges. He is leaving his post at the AACE Upward Bound program. The Chapter owes Ron a great debt of gratitude for his many years of service to the NorCal Chapter in keeping us informed and mobilized on important legislative issues.
Moving forward, the Chapter has instituted two Co-Chairs for Legislation and Education. Brian Aguilar from Stanford Upward Bound and Ken Songco from AACE Talent Search will assume leadership of this vital committee. We are confident that Ken and Brian will serve the Chapter well.
Chapter meetings were held on October 11 at South Lake Tahoe (in conjunction with our PDS) and December 9 at Napa Valley College. The next meeting will be conducted at the WESTOP Annual Conference in Las Vegas.
The NorCal Student Leadership Conference is scheduled for February 25 and the Parent Empowerment Conference for April 29. TRIO Day activities will be in conjunction with the CenCal Chapter on February 20.
Chapter account balance as of October 31, 2005 is $39,447.88
