Chapter Description: The purpose of the Chapters is to bring together WESTOP Members on a geographical basis to articulate and act upon issues and concerns of their Membership within the purpose, objectives, and functions of WESTOP as expressed in Article II, Sections 2.1 and 2.2 (Article III, Section 3.2)
Chapter Updates:
- Last Chapter meeting was held on November 29, 2006 in Downtown Phoenix.
- Arizona Chapter first visit to the new Arizona State University Downtown Phoenix Campus. Member Anita Blanco provided the Chapter with information on the new campus.
- Arizona TRIO Day Luncheon date confirmed for February 24, the event will be held at the ASU West Campus or ASU Downtown Phoenix Campus.
- Legislation and Education Chair, Anita Blanco, discussed the proposal for the two interns utilizing the COE Grant. This included job descriptions and a timeline.
- Reviewed bylaws changes with the Chapter.
- Chapter Secretary submitted a resignation letter as she and her husband prepare for a move to Albuquerque, New Mexico. The Chapter has one more meeting prior to elections; we will have a volunteer take notes until elections at the WESTOP Conference.
- Arizona Chapter PDS has been moved from early January to mid April due to the dates of this year’s Annual Conference.
- Chapter nominations will be held online for President-Elect and Secretary.
- Our next Chapter meeting will be at the Annual Conference in San Francisco.
