Description: The Professional Development Committee shall provide training and
activities to foster the growth and development of the membership and Board.
Committee Assignments:
- Plan and implement the second professional event that focuses on technology for members at the chapter and regional level.
- Research the professional development needs of the WESTOP membership.
Committee Updates:
1. Collaborated with Caren Fernandez, Technology Committee in the planning a Professional Development Training in conjunction with the University of Washington Technology Training in La Jolla, CA, January 8-9, 2007 (evening sessions).
a) The training sessions were postponed, low attendance reason for
cancellation. The two planned sessions will be incorporated in the technology strand of workshops at the annual conference.
2. Offered assistance to Romeo Garcia, 2007 WESTOP conference chairperson, Ping Chan and Allan Bee, Registration Chairpersons in preparation for the annual conference. Professional Development committee members will be available to assist conference committee members at the annual conference.
3. Collaborate planning with the Technology Committee and Karen Morrell, Univ. of Washington to coordinate training opportunities for the WESTOP members early in the 2007-08 fiscal year.
