Brief Committee:  The responsibilities of the Technology shall include, but not be limited to, the promotion of technological issues and advancements as it benefits WESTOP’s purpose and those of programs represented by our membership.

Committee Assignments

1. Form a committee with regional representation, including the WESTOP website administrator

1. Prepare a budget

3. Create for board approval policies/procedures conducting business via email or WWW
4. Review on-line association membership directory for consistency with assistance from CFO
5. Evaluate and Make recommendations to the Board regarding the WESTOP website, online membership, directory, listerv, online advertisement, and other technological advances
6. Assist Professional Development committee with planning and implementation of a second regional conference/training.

Committee /Chapter Updates:

1. The committee has continued the Tuesday Technology Tips – Steve Calhoun is currently doing it for Nov.  Nancy Hasenpflug (Dec) Russell Lobban (Jan & Feb)
2. The committee has worked with the website administrator regarding the upkeep of the technology tips and other pages.

Action Items:

1. The technology workshops that were scheduled for Jan 8 – 9, 2007 in La Jolla, CA was cancelled.  We only received a few registrants.  It was decided that there will be a technology strand of workshops at our annual conference, since we already contracted with the presenters.  The workshops will be a two part work that will cover basic web design and databases.  I already spoke with Ken and it is a go.
2. Still need to find a representation from SoCal.
3. Technology Conference/Workshops.  I spoke with Karen Morell from University of Washington TRiO training and she is interested in collaborating with our annual tech conference/workshop for 2008.  She is open to where and when, she would like to get in contact with the next Technology Chair,
4. Listserv:  Working on the listserv.  Would like to take care of this issue before my term is over.  Is working closely with Dave Ferguson, Cesar Alvarez, & Russell Lobban.  Thank you Joy for getting the information to me.
