Events of 2008
Listed below is the following status of Arizona Chapter Events:

TRiO Leadership Conference
-The TRiO leadership conference is a student development conference where TRiO students of all ages can learn together and hone their leadership abilities. This event is being planned for spring 2008.

Update:
-Event is currently being planned for the last weekend of February or the first weekend of March
-The AZ TLC has usually taken place in one of two locations over the last five years. A site totally new to the leadership conference is being looked into (Globe, Flagstaff)

Arizona Professional Development Seminar
-The Arizona Professional Development Seminar is a seminar that is dedicated in the progression of the development of Arizona TRiO professionals. The event is being planned for a spring time event on an educational campus.

Update:
-Chapter is looking into keeping with the prior years experience in using resources that are of little if not no cost.

-Current location being evaluated is the Glendale area of Arizona. This location will still be a central location for all of the Arizona Chapter.

-Looking to keep the current timeframe of a one day seminar (overnight for those that have to travel) and a half day of wrap up activities.

-A large focus is being placed on including many of our state representatives and congressional contacts. Chapter has agreed that the COE Policy Event is not the only time that we should be meeting with those that can advocate for TRiO on a larger scale outside of their communities.

Membership
-Although not an event, plans are being formulated to update the Arizona Chapter of WESTOP website with an independent web host. This independent web host will host the Arizona Chapter website but still be linked to the WESTOP website. This website would be a great tool for both veteran members and new members. The chapter is currently looking into a paying for an independent web host (yahoo) or if there is a free web host (school server).
