Brief Committee Description: The Fiscal Affairs Committee is responsible for reviewing all budgets and subsequent revisions, contract agreements and forwarding recommendations to the Board.
Committee Assignments: Committee assignments as described in the committee description are continuous, review and revise the Fiscal and Accounting Policies of the Association, create procedure for disbursement of scholarships from WESTOP, create policy/procedure regarding C-vent.
Committee Updates:
- FAC made a recommendation to the Board of Directors to approve the proposed changes to the WESTOP 2006-2007 Fiscal Year budget on June 29, 2006 via e-mail.
- FAC made a recommendation to the Board of Directors to approve a request submitted by Past-President, Mr. Jose Martinez-Saldaña, to purchase a table at the COE Annual Conference in September 2006 at no more than $5000.
Action Items:
- FAC recommends the WESTOP Board of Directors approve the request from the Communications and Public Relations Committee to move monies in the amount of $1000 from the Public Relations Committee to the Communications Committee.
- FAC recommends the WESTOP Board of Directors approve the requests of the Pacific Islands, Southern California, and Central California Chapters to open a second account in the form of a savings or CD.
- FAC recommends the WESTOP Board of Directors approve the following changes/additions to the Fiscal and Accounting Policies Manual:
- Under section 404, page 10, add A-1:
Each Chapter will contribute monies to the C-vent account. This amount will be determined prior to the submission of the Chapter Budgets for the following fiscal year by estimating the number of events and expected number of registrants attending events for each Chapter.
- Add a section 309 titled Registration Procedures (would appear on page 9):
All Chapters are to utilize the online event registration for all events and activities hosted by the Chapter.
- Under section B, page 12, Membership Fees, change the Professional rate to reflect our current membership rate.
- On the Financial Affairs Committee Change in Budget Request Form add a line for the date.
