Brief Committee: The responsibilities of the Technology shall include, but not be limited to, the promotion of technological issues and advancements as it benefits WESTOP’s purpose and those of programs represented by our membership.
Committee Assignments
1. Form a committee with regional representation, including the WESTOP website administrator
2. Prepare a budget
3. Create for board approval policies/procedures conducting business via email or WWW
4. Review on-line association membership directory for consistency with assistance from CFO
5. Evaluate and Make recommendations to the Board regarding the WESTOP website, online membership, directory, listerv, online advertisement, and other technological advances
6. Assist Professional Development committee with planning and implementation of a second regional conference/training.
Committee /Chapter Updates: (can use numbers or bullets)
1. The committee has continued the Tuesday Technology Tips – Took the summer off and will continue in the beginning of September. (Would like volunteers Steve and Cesar would take on a month – Sept, Oct, Nov, Dec, Jan,)
2. The committee has finalized the email procedures and was approved by the BOD – It now has to go through the membership and added through the by-laws procedure.
3. The committee has worked with the website administrator regarding the upkeep of the technology tips and other pages.
4. The committee has created an online technology survey. Scheduled for the members the middle of September. (Was scheduled for Aug, but since the tech conference is moved to Jan, the date was changed)
5. The committee has spoke with various people regarding presenting at the Tech Seminar (Need suggestions, chapter president, please pass the invitation to your chapter)
Action Items:
1. Technology Seminar is scheduled for Dec. 6 - 9 at Monterey, CA. Need to contact Univ. of Washington to see if they would still like to participate. – This day may change from Dec. to Jan in La Joya.
(Refer to the technology agenda) – After the CenCal PDS, Do we want three days, two days? Workshop 2 or 3 offered, Prize, ipod video, how much registration?, can the budget take it?)
2. Will be working on a website map and need to evaluate WESTOP website
3. Need to find regional representation from Pacific Island chapter
