Committee Description:
This committee shall be responsible for identifying and obtaining various resources (fund, services, etc.) to support the function of the Association.
Committee Assignments:
- Working with Chapters to appoint Fund Development Chairs who would report to Resource Development, along with developing a Chapter agenda for support.
- Identify strengths of in-state support and potential contributors, and resources to support host site for conference.
- Identify and write for grants to support current and future association functions and initiatives. Submit at least two grants per year on behalf of association.
- Create ad-hoc committee to support COE Fairshare duties with regional representation (members to serve for three years). Develop and introduce a permanent element within yearly conferences and chapter seminars.
- Provide new TRiO professionals with forums to develop/contribute new ideas and opportunities to participate in leadership.
- Any other duty and task as assigned by the President or Board resolution, which is related to the overall purpose and the good of the association.
Committee Action Items:
- Establish a marketing campaign ("What is WESTOP") for outside contributors, to include brochures, reports, etc., to attract participants in WESTOP:
- Link up with COE fund development counterpart to develop fund strategy.
- Establish meetings with key reps from outside entities who may be a source of investment.
- Reach $16,000 in resource influx (in kind, donations, sponsorships, etc.):
- Find underwriters (private entities) for all scholarships in WESTOP.
- Identify all resources in WESTOP that can be provided in-kind from outside entities.
- Create Alumni agenda (plan, numbers, goals, intent, format, etc.) for participation, involvement, and donations to association.
Committee Update:
- Re-establishing contact with various external representatives to follow through on potential work with WESTOP to include Sallie Mae, College Board, Wells Fargo, Marquez Bros., the California Community College Foundation, EDvolution consulting, and E & J Gallo Wineries (will have met by September 30). Identifying other potential contacts for resources.
- Creating COE Fund Development, WESTOP, and Chapter association goals outline for the next two years (chapter needs, region needs, COE fund goals broken down by chapter). Working with chapters to help local fund chairs to meet goals.
- Rescheduling Advocacy Planning Retreat for new leadership professionals in WESTOP (previous date untenable at Pajaro Dunes, CA – August 23-25). Anticipate early winter date, if not late spring.
- Creating Alumni association timeline and goals to coincide with WESTOP strategic planning. Identifying members within WESTOP to contribute to formation of long term services and events around Alumni participation and support.
