2.  The Central Cal Chapter will facilitate and provide educational enrichment activities, leadership training, communication, collaboration, and legislative awareness for both its members and student populations that are served within its respective membership.

3. Chapter Updates: 

Chapter treasury balance as of August 4th:  $23,025.07. 

1. There is no current membership update. 

1. Chapter members have been given weekly communication regarding chapter meetings, events and legislative updates via the listserv by the chapter president.  Communication thru our newly updated web page has had a positive effect as it has allowed the membership to keep up to date with new members of the chapter and its events/activities. 

1. Since the last board meeting the following activities have taken place:  Summer Jam event was hosted at CSU, Monterey Bay on June 20-21 for 612 participants (students and staff). The two day over-night event entailed mental and physical activities to encourage teamwork and leadership skills. Students had the opportunity to experience college life by staying at the institution’s dormitories.

The Summer Jam final budget report reflected that the chapter netted $1.157.44 in profit from the event.
The CSU, Monterey Bay campus is negotiating in refunding $1,000.00 back to the chapter for use of dorms.

1. The annual Professional Development Seminar (PDS) will be hosted in Napa Valley, CA on October 8 – 10th, 2008.  The committee will be meeting this coming Sept. 5th at CSU, Fresno to finalize anything pending.

1. CenCal Scholarship Committee has been meeting to discuss the funds to be awarded to two students (awaiting original proof of enrollment).   The membership just recently voted to increase the scholarship fund for next year as our fundraising efforts during our chapter meetings have had great success.  These efforts come from our marble game and raffle items that each program provides at each meeting. 

1. Most recent chapter meeting was productive with nominations coming forth for Summer Jam and Student Leadership Conference (SLC).  The next chapter meeting has been scheduled for October 10th, 2008 at Napa Valley, CA following the chapter’s PDS.

1. A call went out for volunteers for committee members for PDS, SLC and TRiO Day. Volunteers were asked to email the event chair if they are interested before Aug. 29th for the PDS committee.
