Committee Updates
- Registration Committee: Allan Bee
- The committee launched registration via C-Vent on November 2, 2006. As of Tuesday, November 14th there are 81 people registered for the conference. The Early Bird deadline is December 8th. Payment must be done by credit card or postmarked by December 8, 2006.
- To increase registration numbers sooner, the committee is considering providing an incentive (prize) for the first 200-250 registrants. The incentives will be announced on the next C-Vent reminder on 11/21/06. Ideas so far have been to give early registrants a chance to pull from the “Grab Bag ‘o Prizes”. Prizes might include: Chance to win past WESTOP memorabilia (anyone with information on past WESTOP memorabilia, please let me know), $25.00 script for the Silent Auction, raffle ticket for extra hotel sponsored door prize. The lure could go out without naming the prizes, at this time.
- Recommendations about “stuff” to be included in the conference packet will be discussed during the week of November 20th.
- Speakers Committee: Brian Aguilar

Possible panelists are: Jose Martinez Saldana, Chair Elect-COE, Current Chair-COE, Sue Huizinga, NASP (and WESTOP?) member.
- Workshops Committee: Ken Songco
- The Call for Proposals went out on the WESTOP Listserve on November 13th. Ken Songco has worked out a timeline for tracking the progress of proposals being submitted. Notification to presenters will go out one month prior to the conference beginning.
- Corporate Sponsorship: Brian Aguilar has secured support from the College Board, as a (co)sponsor of the TRIO Achievers’ Luncheon. Level of support to be determined. College Board has also proposed several ideas for workshops.
