Treasurers Report:  Not much activity.  Balance of account $ 2,347.20

Trio Community Service

• Raffle Tickets will be sold at the Wal-Mart at Damonte Ranch during the weekend (Oct. 11-12 2008)
• About 300 greeting cards were made for the Community Service Project to give to the Veterans at the hospital
• Trio Scholars students will be helping out on the community service project
• Staff will need to wear name badges
• Upward Bound students will wear the program shirts
• Flier attached

VUB will have a recognition ceremony on Friday, Nov 7th

Trio Day Celebration

• National Celebration takes place in February
• Write a grant to get help funding
• Maybe host Trio day on campus
• Go to the Capital Building
• Make our Trio day be just informational sheets on all Trio programs in Northern Nevada to be given out to the state politicians

Regulation and Legislation (SSS Grants) -- Rita

• No decision will be made until after election
• COE advocating for One more year
• Is there a way to extend the grants
• Need to get feedback from the membership
• No call for proposals

Every Trio program needs to let their campus know how our programs add value to their institution

• Trio programs do so by tracking their retention rate
• Need to give information on the following
• Experiences
• Transitions
• What they need to be successful in college
• Need to have Upward Bound Programs more visible on college campus
• Program Stats
• Number of Students
• Program mission statements
• Robert and Rita create a Fact book???
